Welcome to Wild Ones New York Metro Region

We serve Nassau, Suffolk, and New York City’s boroughs of Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. We are involved in a wide array of projects covering this vast area, from a proposed tree and plant ordinance for the Town of Hempstead to restoration work at Bush Terminal in Brooklyn, to working with schools in both Long Island and Brooklyn and many things in between and beyond.

Wild Ones is a national non-profit organization with local chapters that promote the many benefits of landscaping using native plants such as wildflowers, shrubs, trees, and grasses. Native plants are those which were growing here before European settlement and are important to sustain the wildlife that also calls this area home. Native plants thrive in our environment which they have adapted to over thousands of years and thus need little assistance from us to flourish. Click here for more information about the national organization.

Our vision for the future is to be the recognized voice for native plants and sustainable landscaping in our region by promoting increased use of native plantings that create living landscapes through grassroots efforts by example, education, marketing, and personalized support.
